Safety First
Many stables on the market are lightweight “panel” buildings—factory-made sections fixed together with minimal framing. Over time, they can flex, deteriorate, and struggle to withstand the impact of a horse in a busy yard posing a safety risk to the horses themselves.
We build Heavy Timber Stables using the same structural principles as our houses and barns. That means substantial corner posts, proper wind bracing, and traditional mortise & tenon joinery. The result is a solid, rigid structure designed to handle daily use, resist movement, and provide a safer, longer-lasting environment for your horses.
Why Heavy Timber?
Kick Proof: The structural frame absorbs impact rather than failing under loads and impacts as is the case with a common panel format construction.
No Flex: The building will not twist or warp in high winds, this is a building not an equine tailored shed construction.
Chew Resistant: Internal full height kickboards or a combination of vertical tongue and groove internal panelling ensures clean flat surfaces minimising the need for sharp steel chew strips.
